Today I celebrate one year of marriage. I had been planning my wedding day in various forms over the course of my life and I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Since I am a planner, I had most of the planning under control, including timelines for the bridal party and parents. This is something that I provide my clients because it is crucial to stay on a timeline during the wedding day. I hired my amazing planner just a few weeks before my wedding with the intent to use her for day-of coordination. She helped me execute a perfect day and even loaded my mom’s car up at the end of the night with our gifts, decor and extra food.
Our wedding day went by in a flash - it was like the day was fast forwarded and within a blink of an eye, it was gone. Walking down the aisle was surreal. I was surrounded by 40 of my closest family and friends and walking down the aisle to marry Charles. Our officiant was a close friend and my husband’s cousin-in-law who I worked with to insert a funny vow into our ceremony. “To love, honor, and ‘Old Bay.’” This #MarylandGirl is obsessed with @oldbay_seasoning And just like that, we were married. I had a few surprises up my sleeves for my husband, including having a Shelby car brought to the reception for a photo op, a grooms cake and a custom handkerchief made by yours truly. Those personal touches made the day so special. I can help you create fun and memorable touches for your wedding or event too. Let’s talk.
Were there any hiccups? You bet. My dad got lost on his way to where we were getting ready. My veil tore minutes before walking down the aisle. I tripped up the stairs on the way to the ceremony. The fondant on the grooms cake got ruined due to a leaky fridge. The caterers cut our entire cake without saving any for our one year anniversary.
At the end of the day, we were married and it didn’t matter. I didn’t care about any of those hiccups because I did what I set out to do, marry the man of my dreams. Here we are, a year later, happier than ever and ready to forge ahead to wherever life takes us. I’d like to help you execute your perfect day too.
